Get lost in the nooks and crannies of the open-air city

It is no longer necessary to mention the district of Little Venice as it has become so famous: its multicolored architecture gracefully reflects its reflection in the Lauch river. You will make there superb photographs (it is the postcard par excellence of Colmar!). The Tanneurs district is the ideal place in Colmar to discover beautiful half-timbered houses dating from the 17th and 18th centuries and to lounge on terraces. The name of the neighborhood comes from the many families of tanners who lived in these streets, worked there and dried their hides in granaries, some of which are still visible from the street. The park of the water tower close to the House 1934, also called "park of the court of appeal", far from the beaten tracks will allow you to find calm within the neoclassical district of the South, which knew to preserve an atmosphere favourable to the walks or the rest. It surrounds the oldest water tower of the Alsatian region, of neo-Gothic style.

Taste the Alsace Wine Route

Colmar is the capital of Alsace wines and the starting point of the 170 km long Wine Route. This postcard landscape offers breathtaking vineyards, landscapes with changing colors according to the seasons, ruins of castles from the Middle Ages, Romanesque churches, medieval villages still equipped with their ramparts, etc. Explore it by bike or in an unusual way on board the Kut'zig convertible bus leaving from Colmar station, passing through Ribeauvillé, Hunawihr, Riquewihr, Kaysersberg Vignoble, Turckheim, Eguisheim and Voegtlinshoffen. An unmissable route for lovers of culture in Alsace, wine festivals and other tastings!

Discover the ancestral magic of Christmas

From Advent to Epiphany, a genuine Christmas thrill runs through Alsace. More than just a holiday season, Christmas is a tradition that has been anchored in Alsatian culture since the end of the 16th century. The festivities are not limited to Christmas markets: throughout the region, there are no less than 150 celebrations for the end of the year (markets, festivals, shows, songs, parties, etc.) and many traditional recipes to enjoy on this occasion.

Visit the museum "under the lime trees" Unterlinden

Colmar is a rich cultural city with five permanent museums. If you had to visit only one, the Unterlinden museum, which means "under the lime tree", is at the top of the list: it is in fact the most visited museum in the province! It is housed in a former Dominican convent and its church. Count on at least two hours to discover a rich journey, from Prehistory to the art of the 20th century, through Picasso and Monet. His masterpiece is the Issenheim altarpiece.
