Our commitment to responsibility
Faced with the fact that the tourism industry is responsible for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions and inconveniences for the Colmar community, Maison 1934 is resolutely turned towards practices that are as respectful as possible of the environment and is committed to a sustainable approach. First of all, the location of our establishment has been chosen to favor slowtourism with its proximity to public transportation and bike paths to limit car travel. We provide bicycles for your convenience! To limit our impact on the environment, we favor stays of at least three nights and no disposable items are provided to our guests; they are replaced by beautiful porcelain cups, washable slippers and refillable hospitality products. Travelers are also asked to participate in the process: no air-conditioning but good wall insulation and fans to keep cool in the summer. In winter, the central heating temperature is capped to reduce the impact of our energy consumption. Finally, sorting garbage cans are present in each apartment and selective sorting bins are nearby to bring recyclable waste (collection bags are available for transportation). We like to work in network with the local community (recommendations of local services and restaurants favoring short circuits, local and seasonal products) and moreover, by booking their stay directly with us, the travelers participate in a fair distribution of the revenues generated by the activity.
Rules of procedure
We like to welcome our visitors in person, which is why we ask for your arrival and departure times and appreciate your confirmation as the date approaches. Early check-in or late check-out are possible, depending on the possibilities of the moment. The current schedules are as follows: Arrival time - from 5:00 pm Departure time - before 10:00 am. The delicate original parquet floor from the 1930's has been completely renovated and the sanitary situation invites us to take extra precautions, so we would be happy if you would take off your shoes and provide you with cozy slippers. We also count on you to sort your waste as you would at home.
